ii) Objections were made on the following applications:-
3/07/0744/FP/NB Two storey side extension and single storey front extension
12 Robinson Close
Applicant: Mr and Mrs Parnell
Reason:
i. Two storey extension onto a boundary creating a terracing effect
ii Over development of the site
3/07/0766/FP/SE Erection of detached dwelling plus double garage
Land rear of 212 Stansted Road
Applicant: Mr M Vincent
Reason:
i Over development of the site
ii Unacceptable form of back land development
iii Loss of privacy to residents of 210 Stansted Road due to overlooking.
3/07/0855/OP/MHT Outline planning application for redevelopment of the site for residential purposes
32A Rye Street
Applicant: Albanmark Ltd
Reason: The increase in traffic would alter the quiet cul-de-sac character of Stane Close resulting in loss of amenity to the residents.
3/07/0808/FP/AK Single storey side and rear extensions and loft conversion
11 Mazoe Road
Applicant: Mr A Hassan
Reason:
i. Loss of light and privacy to residents of No 9 Mazoe Road
ii Over development of the site.
3/07/0830/AD/SE New illuminated shop front signage with internally illuminated projecting sign
Lloyds Pharmacy, 35a South Street
Applicant: AAH PLC
Reason:. The proposal would be contrary to the Town Council Planning Policy BS001. The provision of illuminated signage was deemed to be detrimental to the street scene and would detract from the overall ambiance of the Town.
3/07/0849/AD/NB Shop signs and projecting signs
Units B01 and B02 Jackson Square, Adderley Road
Applicant: Bathstore
Reason: The proposal would be contrary to the Town Council Planning Policy BS001. The provision of illuminated signage was deemed to be detrimental to the street scene and would detract from the overall ambiance of the Town. In addition, members considered that the proposal would create excessive light pollution to the residential properties situated above the store.
3/07/0889/FP/SE Excavate the front garden to ground level to create open frontage
49 London Road
Applicant: Helen S Thorn
Reason:
i Detrimental to the street scene. The loss of the wall in front of the property would create a gap in an otherwise unbroken wall which stretched the length of the properties in the terrace.
ii Members expressed concern that a precedent would be set.
3/07/0921/FP/NB Change of use to car sales, incorporating new vehicular access and revised parking layout, together with slight realignment of ground floor level - retrospective
Land at 5 South Road
Applicant: GSK Properties Ltd
Reason:
i Detrimental to the amenity of residents of No 1 Kimberley Close due to the access to the site being adjacent to their property.
ii Dangerous egress from Kimberley Close due to sight line problems caused by the railings around the site.
3/07/0958/PT/LH Installation of new 12.5 metre street furniture column replacing lamp post 610, supporting 3no multiband antennas in shroud along with 2no ground based equipment cabinets
LP610, Great Hadham Road/Oriole Way
Applicant: 02
Reason: The proposal would be contrary to the Town Council's Planning Policy BS005 - Bishop's Stortford Town Council objected to any new telecommunication mast applications on the grounds of public health, safety and appearance. No masts of any height should be placed within 250m of a residential area and 500m of any School. The Town Council encouraged the sharing of masts with multiple operators before any new application be considered.
iii No comment was made on the following application:
3/07/0754/FP/SE Resiting of plots 7-9 and adjacent garage, realign drive to plot 3 and add brick cill details to 3 houses. (amendment to scheme approved under ref. 3/06/1520/RP)
